Next Gen Player No. 4 – Taylor Fritz

It’s not been an easy road for Fritz after bursting on to the scene two years ago. There was a lot of hype around him as he won the ATP Star of Tomorrow award in 2016. He had a difficult 2017 with injuries and poor form, but he has started to show his potential this year with some very good wins.

He’s played well on hard courts this year, reaching the fourth round in Indian Wells and semi-final in Chengdu. His run in Chengdu included a win over American Sam Querrey just before falling to Fabio Fognini in the semifinals. Fritz’s big serving, aggressive game should be well suited to the fast format of the Next Gen Finals.
