7. Tomas Berdych
How he got here:
R1: Alejandro Falla in three
R2: Jurgen Melzer in three
R3: Viktor Troicki in three
R4: Bernard Tomic in three
Possible path to title:
QF: (3) Rafael Nadal
SF: (6) Andy Murray
F: (1) Novak Djokovic
Chance at Championship:
Berdych is playing great tennis. He has faced a formidable opponent in every round. Falla, Melzer, and Troicki are all veterans of the game that know how to win and have pulled off upsets int he past. Tomic had enormous support on his side from the crowd and is one of those young up-and-comers. Berdych sailed through all those challenges with ease. Yet none of those players are near the top of the game. Nadal is a totally different beast. Berdych has lost an amazing SEVENTEEN straight times to Nadal. Berdych is not ready to shake that monkey off of his back. As soon as he gets down, the doubts will come and Rafa will pounce.
