1. Novak Djokovic
How he got here:
R1: Aljaz Bedene in three
R2: Andrey Kuznetsov in three
R3: (31) Fernando Verdasco in three
R4: Gilles Muller in three
Possible path to title:
QF: (5) Kei Nishikori
SF: (1) Novak Djokovic
F: (3) Rafael Nadal
Chance at Championship:
Djokovic’s road to the quarterfinals hasn’t been extremely difficult, but his level of play is above anyone else. He and Berdych are the only players who have yet to lose a set. Djokovic came into this tournament as the favorite (possibly a co-favorite with Roger Federer), and he has done nothing to change that perception. In fact, after coming out a little flat in his first round, his play has increased the odds that he will take home his fifth Australian Open title.
