Indian Wells Quarterfinals: Ranking the Final Eight

Mar 18, 2015; Indian Wells, CA, USA; Novak Djokovic (SER) during his match against John Isner (USA) in the BNP Paribas open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Djokovic won 6-4, 7-6. Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

1. Novak Djokovic

How he got here:

R2: Marcos Baghdatis

R3: Albert Ramos-Vinolas

R4: (18) John Isner

Possible path to title:

QF: (32) Tomic

SF: (4) Murray

F: (2) Federer / (3) Rafael Nadal

Chance at Championship:

Djokovic is made for these courts at Indian Wells. The dryness of the desert allows him to hit fast-paced groundstrokes, but the slowness of the courts displays his unmatched defensive skills. His opponents so far have barely made him break a sweat.

Djokovic is the one man on this list that could beat all the other players with ease and it wouldn’t be surprising. When he is at his best, there is simply no matching him right now. The rest of the field has to hope to play the best match of their careers to even have a chance. With the quality of players left in this final eight, beating the others AND coming up with the big win over Djokovic seems impossible.
