Serena Williams is the winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles. A quarter of those trophies being lifted at Wimbledon.

She has won the first two majors of the year without anyone ever really doubting her at any stage during those competitions and she is currently the red hot favourite going into Wimbledon 2015.

To many, the American is the greatest ever female player to grace the game. But can anyone stop her on the grass in London?

Let’s assess the contenders:

Petra Kvitova

There is no doubt that Petra Kvitova has previous on the lawns of Wimbledon, as she shocked Maria Sharapova in the 2011 final and blitzed Eugenie Bouchard in last year’s showpiece.

Those are the only two majors the Czech has to her name, and that alone displays how comfortable she feels at this time of year, and on this surface.

However, she recently pulled out of Eastbourne due to illness and could be ring rusty going into the next fortnight.

Regardless, she is still a massive threat to the dominant force that is Serena Williams.
