Ana Ivanovic’s career continues to ebb and flow in confusing fashion.

Ever since bursting onto the scene in 2008, reaching two successive Slam finals and winning the French in the process, she has shown flashes of brilliance in amongst periods of distinctly unremarkable results.

The Serbian was nearly back to her best earlier this month in Paris, but nerves seemed to get the better of her in the semi-final against Lucie Safarova with the draw opening up for her nicely throughout the whole tournament.

Ivanovic last reached the semi-final at Wimbledon eight years ago, but she is playing well enough to go a step further this time around.
