Just as Jon Snow seemed destined to be the saviour of The Seven Kingdoms and assert his own authority on various claims to the iron throne, Grigor Dimitrov appeared as a favourite to break the dominance of the Big Four. Handsome, likeable, but also with a steely grit, much was expected of both men.

Things don’t always turn out as planned, however, and the ultimate demise of Jon Snow echoed the struggles that Dimitrov from which currently suffering. The fact that expectations were raised so high made the fall even more hard to bear. Olly might not twist the knife on Dimitrov, but Federer, Djokovic and Murray certainly would.
