Andy Murray – It is very rare for Murray to receive a low grade at a Grand Slam given his consistency down the years. He looked jaded in New York, another unusual thing for the Brit and he was outplayed by Kevin Anderson for most of the four sets.

Milos Raonic – On his comeback from injury, Raonic did solidly to get a few matches under his belt. Yet going down without any real fight against Feliciano Lopez was extremely disappointing, especially given the up and down nature of the Spaniard’s game.

Nick Kyrgios – Kyrgios avoids an ‘F’ despite a first round exit as he managed to negotiate a tournament without causing any trouble. He even took a set off Andy Murray for the first time and showed glimpses of why he could be a major force in the future.
