Jo-Wilfried Tsonga may seem like a strange choice here, but let’s not forget that he did onnce go to the final of the Australian Open in 2008. There, he lost to Novak Djokovic in the final, falling victim to Djokovic’s first major championship.  But, I do have Tsonga picked here because he is always capable of surprises and has the power to overwhelm a few players.

Tsonga will definitely pick up some points at this year’s Australian Open, as he did not play at the tournament in 2015.  In 2014, his last appearance at the tournament, he went to the fourth round.  In 2015, he went to the semifinals at the French Open, so he is clearly capable of playing some big tennis.

If he lucks out with some upsets, I could see a big tournament from Tsonga.
