Jack Sock: American advances to finals match at Delray Beach Open
By Harry Floyd
Jack Sock advances, reaching a finals match at this week’s Delray Beach Open. The young American is seeking his second title of 2017.
Jack Sock opened his 2017 ATP World Tour with a title in Auckland.
The 24-year-old American professional tennis player is the current world No. 21 but has bounced between there and No. 19 in the last month. This season is shaping up to be his best yet.

The young American defeated fellow countryman Donald Young in the semifinals at the Delray Beach Open. Sock won 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).
Sock represents the future of American tennis. Fellow American, John Isner, has failed to break into that next level in men’s singles tennis. Now, the younger Sock, is making waves in the sport and hoping to continue challenging the best in the sport.
2017 also saw Sock’s best run at the Australian Open. He reached a third round match where he lost to top French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four hard fought sets.
The young American will face either top seeded Milos Raonic or Juan Martin del Potro in the finals match. Raonic is the current world No. 4. The 26-year-old Canadian is seeking his ninth career ATP singles title. Del Potro, who has 19 career titles, would also prove to be a strong opponent for Sock. A win over either player would do well not only to move Sock in the rankings, but to also boost his confidence moving forward.
Jack Sock continues his strong play in the first two months of 2017. Stay tuned to see how he fares in the finals match at the 2017 Delray Beach Open.
