Monfils and Brown have not faced one another throughout their ATP singles careers. The 32-year-old Brown is the current world No. 75 in men’s singles tennis.
In 2008, Monfils had his best run at Roland Garros. The French tennis player reached the semifinals at the Grand Slam event. Since his performance in 2008, Monfils has won five of his six ATP singles titles. At 30-years-old, however, he must make a run soon.
There is no doubt that Rafael Nadal will be a favorite at Roland Garros. Other players to watch include the likes of Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, and Dominic Thiem among others.
Gael Monfils will need to put on a fantastic display of tennis in order to stand out this year.
He is always a fan favorite at Roland Garros, but Monfils will need to exceed expectations if he hopes to earn a title. Stay tuned to see how he fares at the 2017 French Open.
