Nishikori remains in search of his first ever Grand Slam singles title.
At 27-years-old, Nishikori has become a household name in the sport of tennis. Throughout his career, the Japanese tennis player has 11 ATP titles to his name and has reached as high as the world No. 4 position.
Now, he has a chance to continue on at the 2017 French Open.
Up next for Nishikori is Chung Hyeon of South Korea. The two square off on Saturday in the round of 32. In 2015, Nishikori reached the quarterfinals at the French Open. He will need to continue his fine play this year in order to out-perform his 2015 run at the major tournament.
Since the first set of his campaign at Roland Garros this year, Kei Nishikori has not dropped a single set. He appears to have found his rhythm at just the right time. If he can advance past Chung Hyeon, there is no doubt that the world No. 9 will be a player to watch. He will need to contend with the likes of Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic among others, but Nishikori is on track to make a splash at the French Open.
Stay tuned to see how the action unfolds at the 2017 French Open.
