Murray is 10-7 against Wawrinka throughout his career. The Swiss tennis star is a former French Open champion, having won in 2015.
Wawrinka, along with nine-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal, will both be difficult players to defeat. Nadal takes on the surging Dominic Thiem who is seeking his first ever Grand Slam.
Thiem is the sixth seed at Roland Garros and the current world No. 7 in men’s singles.
Throughout their careers, Nadal is 4-2 against Thiem. Both semifinals matches will prove to be highly competitive at the 2017 French Open.
In 2016, Murray lost his finals meeting with Novak Djokovic. While he has three Grand Slam titles to his name, he is yet to win at Roland Garros. Murray has two Wimbledon titles and one at the US Open in 2012. He has seen several finals appearances at the Australian Open along with his French finals last year.
The world No. 1 will need to play his best tennis if he hopes to reach glory this week. All four remaining players have plenty to play for and will not make the road any easier for Andy Murray. Stay tuned to see how the action unfolds at the 2017 French Open.
