With a WTA singles record of 11-12 on the year, Bouchard is an outside contender for the title at Wimbledon.

She has, however, earned a few strong match wins this year that make her an interesting choice. In Madrid last month, the Canadian tennis star upset both the returning Maria Sharapova and top seed Angelique Kerber. She defeated Kerber 6-3, 5-0 before the German tennis star retired from action.

Bouchard also reached the semifinals in Sydney early in the year. Since then, she has been looking to find her rhythm on the court.

In 2014, the Canadian reached her first ever Wimbledon final.

That year, she faced Petra Kvitova in the finals. Kvitova, a two-time champion at the Grand Slam event took the match 6–3, 6–0. The second-place finish did, however, put Genie on the map in women’s singles tennis.

While she has made changes to her coaching in 2017, Bouchard is still a player with the potential to pull an upset any given match. She will need to contend with the likes of Simona Halep and rising star Jelena Ostapenko. But, the experience Eugenie Bouchard has gathered in her young career will work in her favor. Stay tuned to see how she fares at Wimbledon 2017.
