Nick Kyrgios retires from Wimbledon 2017.
Not surprisingly, the young Australian tennis player is gone from play at the Grand Slam event. It comes earlier than some may have expected, but lingering injuries have caught up to Kyrgios yet again.

The young Australian is the 20th seed in men’s singles at Wimbledon this year. He splashes out against Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round.
After dropping the first two sets 3-6, 4-6, Kyrgios called for the trainer and retired from play. It appears to be the same leg and hip injuries that have plagued him as of late. The lingering injuries, combined with his overall lack of competitive play on the 2017 ATP World Tour, made for a poor combination going into Wimbledon.
As the current world No. 20 in men’s singles, Kyrgios has a record of 19-8 in 2017. He entered the Queen’s Club Championships last week before retiring in his first match there as well.
It seems that Nick Kyrgios is in need of some serious recovery time if he hopes to play at a top level. His two sets with Herbert featured one or two moments of brilliance, but lacked the usual flare that Kyrgios brings to the court.
Some players already seeing early round wins include Kei Nishikori and Sam Querrey. Top seed Andy Murray wins the first two sets of his match before play has been suspended due to rain. Stay tuned to see how the action unfolds at Wimbledon 2017.
