Novak Djokovic dismisses rumors and comments made by John McEnroe about his personal life. The Serbian cruises into the third round at Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic made headlines for several reasons this week. Not only is the Serbian tennis star into the third round at Wimbledon, but rumors surrounding his personal life hit tabloids.

Tennis great John McEnroe then decided to comment on the allegations.

McEnroe casually compared Djokovic’s playing struggles to those of Tiger Woods during his infamous cheating scandal. Meanwhile, the Serbian tennis star is fresh off of a straight set second round win at Wimbledon.

He defeats Adam Pavlásek with ease, winning 6-2, 6-2, 6-1. The win comes after his first round opponent, Martin Klizan, retired during their second set. Djokovic is a three-time winner at Wimbledon. He last claimed the title in 2015.

After his win, Djokovic addressed the comments made by McEnroe.

Nole continues to give zero credence to the comparisons of him and Tiger Woods. Making light of the comments, he appears in good spirits at Wimbledon. Since his slide from the world No. 1 position, rumors have circulated European tabloids about issues in Djokovic’s personal life. His wife, Jelena, is expecting their second child.

While some attribute his fall from dominance on tour to simply being busy with family life, others cite rumors of infidelity. Nothing of significance has come to light regarding the rumors. It’s more likely that the tennis star is entering a new era in his career. With twelve Grand Slam singles titles, it is difficult to remain the greatest player in the sport for the entirety of a career.

Novak Djokovic is 30-years-old and has already achieved more on the ATP World Tour than most players could ever dream of. With a busy family life, a jam-packed touring schedule, and the pressure that comes with fighting for the world No. 1 ranking, it is understandable for Djokovic to see some ups and downs on the court.

Laughing off the McEnroe comments and rumors, he jokingly referenced a serve he hit too hard at McEnroe during a practice round. Djokovic appears to be focused on his play at Wimbledon right now. Rumors aside, he moves into the third round to face Ernests Gulbis.

Stay tuned to see how Novak Djokovic fares throughout the rest of Wimbledon.
