Wozniacki fell to American Coco Vandeweghe in the fourth round at Wimbledon. The two-set loss came as a disappointment for the Danish tennis star.
As the sixth seed at Wimbledon, Wozniacki was a strong contender for the title. Her fourth round appearance was the sixth of her career. The Danish tennis star has fared even better at the US Open.
With two finals appearances, Caroline Wozniacki has the ability to make a run in 2017.
In both 2009 and 2014, Wozniacki reached the finals at the US Open. Her first appearance saw her falling to tennis great Kim Clijsters.
Then in 2014, she again reached the finals. This time she went up against American superstar Serena Williams. The American took the finals match in straight sets. Despite the loss, it was Wozniacki’s second ever Grand Slam finals.
Wozniacki is back on track to enter a Grand Slam final yet again.
Throughout her career, Caroline Wozniacki has 25 WTA singles titles to her name.
Although she remains in search of a 2017 title, she has numerous finals and deep tournament runs already on the year. Her game appears sharp as of late and she must be considered the player to beat in any match she enters.
With the US Open less than two months away, her chance at a Grand Slam will be here before she knows it. Look for Wozniacki to not only be a top seed at the major tournament, but also a strong contender for the title. She has the experience to make a run. That, combined with her coming up just short of a 2017 title so far, should serve to motivate the former world No. 1.
Stay tuned to see how Caroline Wozniacki fares at the 2017 US Open.
