Pablo Cuevas is the current world No. 26 in men’s singles tennis. So far in 2017, he has recorded a singles record of 18-12 on the ATP World Tour. He does have one ATP singles title on the year.
The loss comes immediately following an early exit at the Swedish Open. Despite the upset at the German Tennis Championships, the 31-year-old veteran should remain competitive in tournaments leading into the 2017 US Open.
Swedish Open champion David Ferrer is also in action at the German Tennis Championships.
David Ferrer faces off against Nikoloz Basilashvili on Tuesday afternoon in Hamburg. The Spanish tennis player is fresh off of his first title win on the year. As the eighth seed in Hamburg, he could be a sleeper pick this week.

Ramos-Vinolas has only reached as far as the second round at the US Open throughout his career. He will likely look to build some momentum with success in the coming weeks. Look for him to be the player to beat this week with Cuevas seeing his early exit.
