In his quarterfinals match, Sock squares off against fifth seed Kyle Edmund. The American tennis star is looking to rebound from a disappointing early exit at Wimbledon this year. A win at Atlanta could do wonders for him leading into the US Open.
Also in action is second seed John Isner. A three-time champion at the Atlanta Open, Isner must be considered a favorite to win. He takes on Lukáš Lacko on Friday. Lacko is fresh off of a straight set victory over American Donald Young.
All top five seeds remain alive in the quarterfinals.
Third seed Gilles Müller takes on 20-year-old qualifier Tommy Paul. The young American has his work cut out for it. Müller brings significant experience to the court. Plus, with two ATP singles titles on the year, the veteran tennis star has proven that he still has what it takes. Recently, Müller reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon where he fell to Marin Cilic in five sets.
Fourth seed Ryan Harrison faces fellow American up and comer Christopher Eubanks. The younger Eubanks upset the eighth seed in order to advance in Atlanta.
Quarterfinals action kicks off at noon on Friday at the Atlanta Open. With all top five seeds remaining, the tournament is gearing up for a thrilling finish. Stay tuned to see how Sock, Isner, and others fare at the 2017 Atlanta Open.
