By Harry Floyd
John Isner is into the finals yet again at the Atlanta Open. The American tennis star now has a chance at his fourth career title at the tournament.
John Isner is the No. 2 seed this week at the Atlanta Open. Top seed and fellow American tennis star, Jack Sock, saw an upset by Kyle Edmund. The British up and comer defeated Sock in the quarterfinals.
Now, Atlanta is a chance for the veteran Isner to regain his stronghold on the ATP tournament. He is a three-time champion at the event.

Isner defeats Gilles Muller in straight sets during their semifinals meeting. He takes the match, winning 6-4, 6-2. Up next is fellow countryman Ryan Harrison in the finals.
Harrison, the No. 4 seed, pulls off an impressive win over the fifth seeded Edmund on Saturday. In three sets, the American managed to find his rhythm and compete the victory by cruising through the final two sets. He is yet to win a title in Atlanta.
John Isner seeks his fourth title at the Atlanta Open when he challenges Ryan Harrison on Sunday.
Isner is the current world No. 20 on the ATP World Tour. He has a singles record of 20-14 on the year to go along with one ATP singles title. Just last week, the American veteran won in Newport at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.
Sunday provides the opportunity for John Isner to solidify his dominance over the Atlanta Open. After winning three consecutive titles from 2013 to 2015, the American became the player to beat at the tournament. Last year, Australian Nick Kyrgios took the title from Isner. He won the finals match in straight sets even though Isner took him to tie-break in each. 2017 at the Atlanta Open is a chance at redemption for Isner.
With Sock’s fading play in recent months, Isner might also be returning to the spotlight in terms of American tennis. His win in Newport set him up for a strong lead-in to the US Open. Another win at the Atlanta Open could keep him on his path to success. Throughout their careers, Isner is 5-2 against Harrison. Stay tuned to see how the finals unfold at the 2017 Atlanta Open.
