The Czech tennis players wins her finals meeting with Wozniacki in straight sets. She takes the match 6-3, 6-4. It is Siniaková’s second career WTA singles title. Both have come in 2017.

While Wozniacki was the favorite coming into the match, it appears that her struggle to close out tournaments in 2017 won out. Despite the loss, the world No. 6 does move up in the Race to Singapore rankings.

The deep Swedish Open run moves Caroline Wozniacki into seventh in the Race to Singapore.

Simona Halep leads the WTA Tour Race to Singapore. She is also the current world No. 2 in women’s singles tennis. While Halep does have a title in Madrid this year, her 2017 tour has similarly resembled that of Wozniacki’s. Both players have come so close to big tournaments wins this year.

Looking ahead to the US Open, Caroline Wozniacki remains in a strong position. She is a two-time second place finisher at the Grand Slam. The former world No. 1 is seeking her first ever Grand Slam singles title. Although she has not won in 2017, her fantastic play comes at the right time. Out of the four Grand Slams, she has historically performed best at the US Open.

Stay tuned to see how the former world No. 1 closes out her 2017 WTA Tour. With 25 career titles to her name, there is no doubt that she will have another shot at a title soon. Look for her to remain competitive throughout the rest of the year.
