Sam Querrey sees another successful week on the ATP World Tour. His title at the Los Cabos Open makes him the world No. 20 in men’s singles.

Sam Querrey continues his successful run on the 2017 ATP World Tour. After winning a title in Acapulco earlier in the year, the American earns his second title of the year on Saturday.

Defeating Thanasi Kokkinakis in three sets, Querrey wins the Los Cabos Open 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

The win comes after an impressive run at Wimbledon for Querrey. The American tennis star reached the semifinals at the Grand Slam where he fell to Marin Cilic. In his quarterfinals match, he defeated Andy Murray in five sets.

Querrey was the No. 2 seed at the Los Cabos Open. Top seeded Tomas Berdych fell to Kokkinakis in his semifinals match on Friday. Kokkinakis, a 21-year-old Australian tennis player, had one of his best ATP tournament performances this week despite the second place finish.

Sam Querrey is now the world No. 20 on the ATP World Tour.

The American tennis star advances four positions to reach the No. 20 ranking. He falls just behind world No. 19 John Isner. Their fellow countryman and rising star, Jack Sock, is also in the world No. 17 position. Having three Americans in the ATP top 20 leading up to the US Open is exciting for the sport.

While players such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Murray will remain favorites in the coming weeks, the three Americans are gaining momentum. Isner is fresh off of back-to-back titles in Newport and Atlanta. Each of the three top Americans have two titles on the year.

Sam Querrey is riding high right now. The veteran tennis star is approaching his career high singles ranking of seventeen. Previously, he has advanced to the fourth round of the US Open twice in his career. 2017 is a chance at another deep run for Querrey. Stay tuned to see how he fares throughout the rest of the 2017 ATP World Tour.
