Jared Donaldson stuns British No. 2 Kyle Edmund at the 2017 Chengdu Open.
The 20-year-old American tennis player is the current world No. 58 on the ATP World Tour. He advances into the quarterfinals to face Denis Istomin next.

Edmund was the sixth seeded player at the tournament this week. He could not, however, repeat the strong display of tennis he put on during his opening round match.
Jared Donaldson defeats Kyle Edmund in three sets, winning 6-0, 1-6, 6-4.
Istomin is fresh off of an upset over the tournament’s third seed. He or Donaldson will have the chance to play spoiler in the semifinals.
As the other round of 16 matches round out the quarterfinals, top seed Dominic Thiem remains the favorite this week.
The win over Edmund is actually the second time this year that Donaldson has defeated him. If he can continue his current play, he may qualify for a spot in the Next Gen ATP Finals. A win at the Chengdu Open would be a first ATP singles title for Jared Donaldson. Stay tuned to see how he fares throughout the rest of the tournament.
Second seed Albert Ramos Viñolas is out of the Chengdu Open. He saw an upset against unseeded Dušan Lajović. The Serbian tennis player advances, winning his meeting with Ramos Viñolas in straight sets. He takes the match 6-2, 6-3 and is into the quarterfinals.
