Caroline Garcia completes Wuhan-Beijing title run, enters WTA top 10

Caroline Garcia is riding high right now. The French tennis star completes back-to-back tournament wins throughout her time in China so far.

Caroline Garcia wins her second consecutive title, defeating Simona Halep at the 2017 China Open.

The young French tennis player is playing some of her best tennis right now. Just one week after earning the Wuhan Open title, Garcia tastes glory again in Beijing.

Garcia breaks into the WTA top 10 with her win at the China Open. She kicks off the next week in the world No. 9 position. More importantly though, Garcia also moves into the eighth spot in the WTA Race to Singapore.

Caroline Garcia is vying for the final singles spot at this year’s WTA Finals in Singapore.

The French tennis star defeats Halep in a hard fought two-set victory. She takes the match, winning 6-4, 7-6 (3).

While the outcome was unfortunate for Halep, the Romanian tennis star does move into the world No. 1 position this week. She becomes the 25th player to achieve the ranking since the creation of the ranking system. As for Garcia, she is right back into action at the Tianjin Open on Monday.

Caroline Garcia’s road to the WTA Finals is more possible now than ever before. She continues her bid for the end of year tournament by starting play at the 2017 Tianjin Open.

Facing an extremely interesting opening round match in Tianjin, Garcia is set to face former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova. Although the China Open champion is the top seed this coming week, Sharapova is capable of anything in their opener. She was ousted by runner-up finisher Halep in Beijing and will be attempting to end Garcia’s eleven consecutive match wins streak. The next several weeks are critical on the 2017 WTA Tour. Look for Caroline Garcia to be a contender in any match she plays and stay tuned to see if she can qualify for the WTA Finals.
