Roger Federer continues 2017 dominance over Rafael Nadal

Roger Federer improves to 4-0 in competitive matches against Rafael Nadal on the 2017 ATP World Tour. Dating back to 2015, he has a five-match win streak.
Roger Federer is now a two-time champion at the Shanghai Masters.
The Swiss superstar improves his already stelar year by adding a straight set title win over Rafael Nadal. Federer takes the finals meeting in Shanghai, winning 6-4, 6-3.

The Federer-Nadal rivalry is one of the best that tennis has ever witnessed. Both players are among the greatest names to ever grace the court. The 2017 ATP World Tour has been reinvigorated by their resurgences.
Overall, Rafael Nadal leads Roger Federer throughout their career. He is 23-15 against Federer.
The tides are, however, turning in their rivalry. Federer is in the midst of a five-match win streak dating back to 2015 against Nadal.
After his victory at Shanghai, the Swiss superstar joked that his win streak is due to not facing the Spanish star on clay. Both players are now eyeing the end of year finals in London. The Race to London will likely feature several young rising stars along with the two tennis greats. As of right now, Nadal and Federer are positioned number one and two respectively for the finals.

The Swiss tennis superstar is benefiting from a strategic schedule based around the Grand Slams and other top tournaments. He and Nadal have combined to win all four of the Grand Slams on the year. Federer won at both the Australian Open and again at Wimbledon.
With he and Nadal alternating major tournament titles this year, the Spanish tennis star has just managed to edge Federer for the world No. 1 ranking.
