Federer continues his success against the up and coming American tennis player. With his win on Sunday, he remains undefeated in his career head-to-head with Sock.
Roger Federer also spoke to the media about Andy Murray’s progress throughout his offseason.
The Swiss tennis star played Murray during an exhibition in Glasgow last week. While the former world No. 1 and 2016 ATP Finals champion is still recovering from injury, Federer referred to Murray as “brave” for putting himself out there like that.
There is still plenty of time for Murray to continue recovering from his injury and get into playing shape for the 2018 ATP World Tour. He hopes to be in competitive playing form by the 2018 Australian Open. Murray is a five-time runner-up at the first Grand Slam of the calendar year.

As for Jack Sock, he snuck into the ATP Finals in London at the last minute. The American rocketed upward in the men’s singles rankings last week with a title win at the 2017 Paris Masters. The fantastic run in Paris thrust the American into his first ever end of year finals. To date, his title in Paris is the biggest of his career. While he held strong against Federer, he will need to rebound in his next two matches if he hopes to reach the semifinals in London.
Also in action on Sunday is German tennis star Alexander Zverev and Marin Cilic. Zverev, who leads the rankings for the Next Generation ATP players, has had a stellar 2017 tour and also qualified for his first ever ATP Finals. He is just 20-years-old.
