David Goffin keeps Belgium alive in Davis Cup final

David Goffin keeps Belgium’s hopes alive by winning his match with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The Davis Cup final is now even at 2-2.
David Goffin defeats Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France on Sunday.
The two squared off in the Davis Cup final between France and Belgium. Goffin is fresh off of a runner-up finish at the 2017 ATP Finals in London. He evens the Davis Cup meeting to 2-2 with a straight set victory over Tsonga.

Goffin defeats Tsonga on Sunday, winning 7-6 (5), 6-3, 6-2. The two players are among the best in men’s singles tennis. Goffin is the current world No. 7 on the ATP World Tour. Along with his ATP Finals appearance, the Belgian also won two singles titles on the year.
Belgium’s Steve Darcis faces Lucas Pouille of France next at the Davis Cup final.
Darcis has been strong in all of his Davis Cup deciding matches so far. The younger Pouille, however, could pull the upset.
After the first set between Goffin and Tsonga, the French tennis star received treatment on his neck. While he fought strong throughout the first set, his effort was not enough in the final two. Goffin cruises to a straight set win over Tsonga. The Belgian tennis star appeared poised and in control despite just coming off of his run at the ATP Finals in London.
