At 31-years-old, Anderson remains a top player on the ATP World Tour. While he did not earn a singles title in 2017, the South African tennis player did post a strong 32-21 singles match record.

Kevin Anderson soared 53 spots to the world No. 14 ranking on the 2017 ATP World Tour.

The South African tennis player bounced back from injury during his 2017 campaign. His play during Grand Slam events in particular was exceptional this past year. At the 2017 US Open, Anderson reached the finals where he fell to Rafael Nadal.

The Spanish superstar took home the title at Flushing Meadows, defeating Anderson in straight sets. Nadal won their meeting 6–3, 6–3, 6–4. Anderson’s run at the Grand Slam, however, was the best he had ever performed at the US Open. He also reached the fourth round of play at both the French Open and then again at Wimbledon.
