Gael Monfils enters the 2018 ATP World Tour in search of his first Grand Slam title.
The French tennis veteran is a fan favorite on the tour. He is the current world No. 46 in men’s singles tennis after an up and down 2017 season. Monfils went 20-14 in his ATP singles matches on the 2017 ATP World Tour. Now, he is looking ahead to play at Melbourne Park.

Monfils is a six-time singles title winner on the ATP World Tour. Having reached a career high world No. 6 ranking in men’s singles tennis, he has proven himself among the best in the sport. The French tennis star, however, remains in search of a Grand Slam title.

Still eyeing that first ever major tournament title, Monfils is setting his sights on the upcoming 2018 ATP World Tour. While his 2017 season saw both ups and downs, he has the ability to make a run at any tournament he plays in.
If he can maintain consistent baseline dominance, Monfils is able to compete with the best in men’s singles tennis. He will need to compete with the likes of 2017 Australian Open champion Roger Federer and current world No. 1 Rafael Nadal. Last year, Federer defeated Nadal in a five-set epic to win the first Grand Slam of the calendar year. The two will be the favorites heading into action at Melbourne Park in the new year.

Look for Gael Monfils to have an impact on the 2018 ATP World Tour. His last singles title came in 2016 at play in Washington. He has six ATP titles to his name and will be looking to earn a Grand Slam win in the coming years. Players such as Federer and Nadal have shown that even veteran stars can remain dominant on tour. Former world No. 1 and star Australian Open player Novak Djokovic returns for the 2018 ATP World Tour. He will be a player to watch at Melbourne Park as he is a six-time champion at the major tournament. Half of Djokovic’s Grand Slam titles have come at the event.
