Nick Kyrgios: no coach, optimistic for 2018 ATP World Tour

Nick Kyrgios is looking ahead to his 2018 tour. The Australian will again move forward without a full-time coach but is optimistic about the upcoming tour.
Nick Kyrgios is gearing up for his 2018 ATP World Tour.
The young Australian tennis star has announced that he still does not have a full-time coach on his team and that he will be going about business as usual. He is expected to play the Brisbane International and get some help in upcoming events from both Lleyton Hewitt and Jason Stoltenberg.

It comes as no surprise to those who know Kyrgios that he is not taking on a full-time coach. He has not had one since the 2015 ATP World Tour. During that season, he worked with both Sebastien Grosjean and Radek Stepanek.
Radek Stepanek is now on team Djokovic.
Kyrgios is the current world No. 21 in men’s singles tennis. The young Australian remains among the best in the sport despite his intermittent play in 2017. Often, his work ethic and commitment to the sport are called into question.
The talent displayed by the world No. 21 is undeniable. While he may act unexpectedly both on and off the court from time to time, Kyrgios remains among the best in a rising generation of men’s tennis players. All three of his ATP singles titles came in 2016. This past year, he saw a 31-17 singles match record and did see several deep tournament runs.

The favorites on the 2018 ATP World Tour will be Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. The Swiss great is the defending champion at the Australian Open. Kyrgios, however, will be a local favorite and should show how prepared he is for the Grand Slam event with his play at Brisbane. Other players to watch in the early weeks of 2018 include two former world No. 1’s Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. The Serbian tennis superstar is a six-time champion at Melbourne Park. His early 2018 play should reveal whether or not he is poised to retake the top spot in men’s singles tennis this coming year.
