Roger Federer is ready to make history yet again on the 2018 ATP World Tour.
The Swiss tennis superstar has 19 career Grand Slam singles titles to his name. With the Australian Open right around the corner, the defending champion is looking to make it 20 career slams this coming month.

At Melbourne Park 2017, Federer defeated friend and rival Rafael Nadal in the finals. Winning in five sets, Federer took the match 6–4, 3–6, 6–1, 3–6, 6–3. He would go on to win each of his matches against Nadal throughout the rest of the 2017 ATP World Tour.
Now, Roger Federer looks to make history on the upcoming tour.
The Swiss great is the current world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis. He is on the heels of Nadal, who currently holds the top spot in the rankings. Federer, at 36-years-old, does not appear to be letting up.
Looking ahead to play in the next two weeks, several top players are set to compete in tournaments leading into Melbourne Park. Federer, who has five titles and is the defending champion at the Australian Open, ought to be the favorite at the first major tournament of the calendar year. While Nadal is the world No. 1 right now, he has already withdrawn from an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi this coming week.

Players are eager to see just how healthy the world No. 1 is at the start of the 2018 ATP World Tour. If Nadal is not in top shape, Federer will be the clear cut favorite at the Australian Open. Another player to watch will be Serbian superstar and six-time champion at Melbourne Park, Novak Djokovic. The Serbian is bouncing back from injury and hopes to rise again in the men’s singles rankings.
