Grigor Dimitrov: can he win his first Grand Slam at Melbourne Park?

Grigor Dimitrov is coming off of a career year on the ATP World Tour. He and other young stars are searching for their first career Grand Slam.
Grigor Dimitrov is the 2017 ATP Finals champion. Winning the year-end tournament in London, he has set himself up for a strong start to the 2018 ATP World Tour.
With the first Grand Slam of the calendar year right around the corner, the Bulgarian tennis star could be an interesting pick to win the major tournament. He and other rising stars in men’s singles tennis will look to dethrone veteran greats such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Federer is the defending champion at Melbourne Park. Last year, he defeated Nadal in the finals to win his first Grand Slam on the year. Both superstars would go on to swap Grand Slam titles throughout the rest of the year.

As the current world No. 3 in men’s singles tennis, Dimitrov is poised to carry his momentum right into the opening weeks of the 2018 ATP World Tour. Winning four titles in 2017, the Bulgarian reached new heights this past year. Now, he has a chance to rise even higher this coming year.
Action at the Hopman Cup and the Brisbane International will feature many top players vying for the title at Melbourne Park later in January. Play in Abu Dhabi this coming week will also see several top players in action. With the Grand Slam event just under one month away, any and all momentum that a player can gather right now is critical.
