Roger Federer has arrived in Australia. The world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis is the defending champion at the Australian Open.

Roger Federer is in Australia and gearing up for the first Grand Slam of the year.

The Swiss tennis great is the defending champion at the Australian Open. Last year, he defeated friend and rival Rafael Nadal in the finals at the major tournament. Federer looks to add a 20th Grand Slam singles title during his upcoming ATP World Tour. He enters a talented field at the Hopman Cup in Perth, Australia this coming week.

Federer is always a fan favorite on tour. He never seems to disappoint when posting on his social media either. The world No. 2 posted an Instagram photo of him in Western Australia this week.

The Swiss great took time to snap some photos with a friendly looking quokka in Australia. He should be considered a favorite to win the upcoming major tournament, especially if Nadal is not healthy enough to compete at a high level. The Spanish tennis star recently withdrew from play at Brisbane next week.

Another player to watch at Melbourne Park this year will be Serbian superstar Novak Djokovic. The former world No. 1 saw an injury ridden 2017 ATP World Tour. He looks to return to the top of the rankings in men’s singles tennis this coming tour. If he is healthy and ready for play at Melbourne Park, Djokovic must be considered a top contender at the Grand Slam. He has six singles titles at the major tournament and many are eager to see if he can bounce back early in 2018.
