Grigor Dimitrov is in action at this year’s Brisbane International. The ATP Finals champion is the top seed this week in Brisbane.

Grigor Dimitrov is set to breakout in the early weeks of the 2018 ATP World Tour.

Top seed Andy Murray has withdrawn from Brisbane due to injury. Now that the Scot and former world No. 1 is out of the field, Dimitrov’s path to the title is clear. While he should be the heavy favorite this week, there are still several strong players alive.

Grigor Dimitrov is coming off of his ATP Finals victory in London.

The Bulgarian tennis star has become a headliner on the ATP World Tour. There are only two players currently ahead of him in the men’s singles rankings. Both of those players are two of the greatest to ever play the sport.

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal and Swiss great Roger Federer are the only players in front of Dimitrov right now. At 26-years-old, the Bulgarian is entering the prime of his career. Along with his end of year ATP Finals victory, Dimitrov also saw deep runs in several major tournaments last year. At the Australian Open, he even reached the semifinals. With play at Melbourne Park right around the corner, there is no doubt that he would like to carry his newfound moment into the first Grand Slam of the calendar year. Look for Dimitrov to come out strong in his Brisbane opener.
