Team Switzerland is taking full advantage of the event this week. Roger Federer and partner Belinda Bencic complete yet another sweep on their second day of action at the Hopman Cup.

Federer and Bencic defeat team Russia 3-0. The defending Australian Open champion wins his singles match over Karen Khachanov 6-3, 7-6 (8). Bencic also wins her singles meeting over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
Team Switzerland then defeated Russia in the mixed doubles match 4-3 (1), 3-4 (3), 4-1.
The win over Russia comes after also sweeping team Japan earlier in the week. Federer and Bencic continue to be stars at this year’s Hopman Cup in Perth, Australia.
At 36-years-old, Federer is entering his upcoming ATP World Tour as the world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis. He is trailing just behind friend and rival Rafael Nadal for the top ranking. Last year, he defeated Nadal in the finals during a five-set epic at Melbourne Park. With Australian Open action right around the corner, there is no doubt that the Swiss great is looking to gain some momentum heading into the Grand Slam.

Team Switzerland faces team USA on Thursday at the Hopman Cup. Team USA features rising American star Jack Sock and CoCo Vandeweghe. They have seen back to back 2-1 victories over both team Russia and Japan so far. The meeting between Switzerland and USA will be thrilling on Thursday.
