Caroline Wozniacki has two early wins under her belt at the WTA Auckland Open. The top seed is into the quarterfinals this week.

Caroline Wozniacki is off to a fantastic start at the ASB Classic this week.

She enters the WTA tournament as the top seed, fresh off of her WTA Finals win at the end of the 2017 tour. The former world No. 1 is once again eyeing the top ranking in the sport. Wozniacki has made her way into the quarterfinals in Auckland.

The Danish tennis star ousts Croatia’s Petra Martic in straight sets during their round of 16 meeting. Wozniacki takes the match with ease, winning 6-2, 6-2 over Martic. Up next for the top seed is American Sofia Kenin. The young American is just 19-years-old and remains in search of a debut WTA singles title. She does, however, have three ITF wins to her name.

Caroline Wozniacki is gearing up for a big year on the 2018 WTA Tour.

Consistent play throughout 2017 made Wozniacki a headlining name in tennis yet again. She is once again atop the rankings in women’s singles tennis with Simona Halep just ahead of her.

Both Wozniacki and Halep are looking to gather momentum as they head into play at the 2018 Australian Open later this month. With the Grand Slam up next for both players, the pressure is on in the early months of the tour. Interestingly enough, both Wozniacki and Halep remain in search of their first career Grand Slam singles titles. They have each made at least two major tournament finals appearances and seem poised to be picks to win any event they play this year.

Also into the quarterfinals in Auckland is fourth seed Agnieszka Radwańska. The field remains highly competitive this week at the ASB Classic. Radwańska is a former champion at the tournament and Wozniacki is a runner-up finisher. Look for Caroline Wozniacki to remain the heavy favorite in her quarterfinals match. She has not dropped a singles set in either of her first two matches at the event and looks to continue her strong play on Wednesday.
