Elina Svitolina is into the finals at the 2018 Brisbane International.
The third seeded Svitolina knocks out the tournament’s defending champion. Karolina Pliskova put up a strong fight against the Ukrainian but her efforts were not enough. Svitolina takes their semifinals meeting in straight sets. She wins the match 7-5, 7-5.

Now, the third seed is set for a finals match against qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich. They young Belarusian tennis player will be the underdog against the seeded Svitolina. Their finals meeting goes down tomorrow in Brisbane.
Elina Svitolina enters the 2018 WTA Tour as the world No. 6 in women’s singles tennis.
The Ukrainian tennis star has nine WTA singles titles to her name. Having reached as high as the world No. 3 ranking, Svitolina is surging as of late. Her finals meeting with Sasnovich is her 12th career final.
A title win at the Brisbane International will do wonders to provide momentum heading into play at the 2018 Australian Open. Svitolina has seen the third round of play at the major tournament three times in her young career. At just 23-years-old, she is poised to have an impact on the WTA Tour. The 2018 season could very well be her chance to make a Grand Slam run. Her best performance in a Grand Slam so far is a quarterfinals appearance at the 2017 French Open.

23-year-old Sasnovich has put together five strong wins thus far at the Brisbane International. Including her qualifying matches, she has displayed fine tennis at the WTA event.
