Murray spokes with the press and reassured fans that the surgery went well. He could potentially be back on the courts within two months, although he is not rushing into anything.

There is no need for the British No. 1 to rush back before he is ready. Surgery had been a last resort option over this past offseason. After rehabbing and attempting other avenues of recovery, Murray ultimately was forced to go the surgery route.
His recent withdrawal from the Australian Open came along with American superstar Serena Williams also withdrawing from play at Melbourne Park. The American is not injured, but is still making her return to tennis after having given birth to her daughter. She played in an exhibition event two weeks ago in Dubai. As for Murray, a return for the grass court season could be ideal for the former world No. 1. He is a two-time champion at Wimbledon.

"“My plan is to be back playing around the grass court season – potentially before then, but I’m certainly not going to rush anything. I’ve been quoted times for how long it’s taken for players to get back from the surgery I’ve had, and I’ve been given up to 14 weeks. Most likely that will be around the grass court season, maybe slightly before.” – Andy Murray after his surgery in Melbourne on Monday"
Andy Murray remains optimistic about his chances of returning to tennis this year. While the road ahead will not be easy, the British No. 1 is certainly capable of bouncing back. He has previously expressed a desire to play for several more years in order for his eldest daughter to see how important tennis has been to him. At 30-years-old, Murray will be able to recover and continue on as a top player. Stay tuned to see how his recovery goes over the next two months and if he will be able to return in time for the grass court season.
