This weekend, Cilic meets world No. 10 Pablo Carreño Busta in the round of 16. The two have seen fantastic stretches of tennis lately. Their match could very well reveal a potential contender for the title this year at Melbourne Park.

Marin Cilic is 1-0 against Pablo Carreño Busta throughout his career.

Having face one another just once throughout their careers, anything can happen in their Australian Open meeting. Cilic bested the younger Spanish star in 2016, but Carreno Busta has also been red hot at the Australian Open so far.

The fourth round meeting between two of the top players in men’s singles is one that fans and players alike will be eyeing. While Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer remain the favorites at Melbourne Park, a player such as Cilic has the experience and talent necessary to make a title run. A former Grand Slam winner himself, there is no reason to think that he cannot earn his first career title at Melbourne Park.
