Caroline Wozniacki dug deep to make a third set comeback against Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro. The Danish tennis star takes their quarterfinals meeting 6-0, 7-6 (3), 6-2.
The match was classic Wozniacki, including moments of pure dominance mixed right in with plenty of opportunities to hold your breath. The world No. 2 rediscovered her game again in the third set. She cruises to victory and enters the semifinals at the Australian Open.
Wozniacki finds herself in a fantastic position at the Grand Slam. The world No. 2 is into the semifinals at the major tournament for just the second time in her career. This time, it comes on the heels of her winning her first ever WTA Finals in Singapore. Wozniacki’s 2017 WTA Tour was one of consistency and poise, seeing her rise in the rankings yet again.
The Danish tennis star appears to be entering a new era in her career.
A win at the 2018 Australian Open would be Wozniacki’s first ever Grand Slam singles title. Now, with her WTA Finals victory, she is poised to notch a major tournament win in 2018.
Up next for the second seed is Elise Mertens. The young Belgian tennis star is coming off of an upset win over fourth seeded Elina Svitolina. She ought to bring plenty of momentum into her semifinals meeting with Wozniacki. This semifinals appearance is the furthest that the Belgian tennis star has ever advanced at Melbourne Park.

Look for Caroline Wozniacki to remain the favorite in the semifinals. If she can continue her fantastic play at Melbourne Park, she may very well find herself in the finals this weekend.
