Roger Federer is cruising through his matches at the 2018 Australian Open. Always a fan favorite, Federer took to social media to joke about some photos.

Roger Federer took to Twitter, saying “enjoyed my match in outer space yesterday.”

Referencing some photos of his recent play at Melbourne Park, the Swiss great always likes to have fun with his fans. As Federer has not dropped a single set so far at the 2018 Australian Open, in many ways it seems as though the Swiss great is from another planet.

Here’s a look at Federer’s Instagram posting of two photos, one with total darkness surrounding him and one where he is surrounded by light. The world No. 2 is now the highest remaining player in action at the Australian Open. Top seed and world No. 1 Rafael Nadal is out after his quarterfinals loss to Marin Cilic.

Nadal withdrew during the fifth set against Cilic. Clearly beginning to struggle due to injury at the start of the fourth, it was evident that he could no longer keep up with the Croatian tennis star. If Cilic can get past Kyle Edmund in the semifinals, he could very well meet Federer in the finals. It would be Cilic’s first ever final at the Grand Slam. He is a former US Open champion.

Roger Federer faces Tomas Berdych next at the AusOpen.

Roger Federer must be considered the favorite to win the title this week, especially with Nadal out of the mix. While several young stars could play spoiler and go for their first ever Grand Slam title, the Swiss great has the experience needed to remain in control. He is yet to be truly challenged so far at Melbourne Park. Anytime it appeared as though a player might be gaining ground on him, Federer has been able to regain his rhythm. He has seen just two tiebreaks which he won throughout his play at Melbourne Park.

Look for the world No. 2 to be the clearcut favorite moving forward. He faces Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinals next at the Australian Open. Their match goes down later today and should feature a spectacular display of tennis.
