Ahead of him right now are three young stars in the sport. Grigor Dimitrov, Alexander Zverev, and Dominic Thiem better watch out though. Cilic is poised for a huge year on the 2018 ATP World Tour.
Marin Cilic faces the winner of Roger Federer and Hyeon Chung for the 2018 Australian Open title.
The Croatian tennis star has the experience and talent necessary to remain atop the rankings this year. If several top players such as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray continue to deal with lingering injuries, Cilic could become an even bigger name in men’s singles tennis. Others such as Stan Wawrinka are also returning from injury and feeling themselves out in the early months of 2018. There is time to gain ground on the best players in the sport if Cilic can take advantage of the first half of the year.
