Eugenie Bouchard reacts to Roger Federer’s AusOpen win

Eugenie Bouchard, like many in the sport of tennis, was in awe of Roger Federer’s 20th Grand Slam title. Here’s a look at her reactions over the weekend.
Eugenie Bouchard is among those in awe of Roger Federer’s most recent Grand Slam.
The 36-year-old Federer is now a 20-time Grand Slam singles winner in men’s singles tennis. He continues to make history and does not appear to be slowing up. Defeating Marin Cilic in the Australian Open finals, Federer further cements his legacy as the greatest in men’s tennis.
Bouchard took to social media several times over the weekend to react to Federer’s win. The young Canadian had a strong opening round match at Melbourne Park before falling to eventual runner-up Simona Halep. The unfortunate draw pit Genie up against the Grand Slam’s top seed on the women’s singles side. Halep would reach the finals, losing out to debut major winner Caroline Wozniacki. The Danish tennis star is now also the world No. 1 on the WTA Tour.

The Canadian tennis star, like many others, was in tears right along with Federer during his post-match interview. The Swiss great delivered his speech and understandably became emotional the second his words were complete. Federer is a fan favorite and acknowledged that the win is for everyone watching too. “The fairy tale continues…” he said during the interview. Bouchard went one step further, recognizing the magic that is Federer on the court and posted a picture of his likeness merged with the viral sensation Salt Bae.

Players such as Eugenie Bouchard are looking for some of that Federer magic in 2018. He stands apart from pretty much anyone else in the sport right now except for Serena Williams.
