Eugenie Bouchard might be finding her rhythm in the early months of the 2018 WTA Tour. She sees a strong performance at the WTA Taiwan Open.

In her third WTA Tour event of the year, Eugenie Bouchard sees her best performance yet. She reaches the quarterfinals at the WTA Taiwan Open in Taipei, Taiwan.

Falling to China’s Yafan Wang, Bouchard comes up just short of a semifinals appearance. Wang would end up losing to eventual champion Timea Babos. Looking at her overall run in Taiwan though, Bouchard should feel optimistic moving forward.

The 23-year-old Canadian tennis star saw a rocky 2017 WTA Tour. Making some changes to her team in the offseason, Bouchard is attempting to move up the rankings yet again. She is a former world No. 5 in women’s singles tennis, having reached career heights in 2014. At such a young age still, Bouchard could make a run at any given time.

Eugenie Bouchard is looking better on tour in February.

After an opening round loss at the Hobart International, Bouchard bounced back with a win in her Melbourne Park opener last month. Her seeding, however, pit her against top seeded Simona Halep in her second match at the Australian Open. She would fall to the eventual runner-up Halep. This year’s champion in women’s singles at Melbourne Park was Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki. It was her first ever Grand Slam singles title.
