Eugenie Bouchard: best showing of 2018 so far in Taiwan

Eugenie Bouchard has the talent and experience to make a resurgence on the WTA Tour at anytime. She is a former world No. 5 in women’s singles tennis.

Maybe time on the courts is what Genie needs right now. Her two match wins at the WTA Taiwan Open were hard-fought victories. In the past, she has proven that she has what it takes to compete with the best in women’s singles tennis. Bouchard often rises to the occasion when taking on tough competition. This month in Taipei, the Canadian tennis star defeated both Lin Zhu and Ana Bogdan before losing in the quarterfinals. She took her round of 16 meeting against Bogdan in straight sets, going 7-5, 7-5.

So far in 2018, Eugenie Bouchard is 3-3 in singles matches.

Bouchard’s play in Taiwan was exactly what she needed to bounce back after a tough schedule at Melbourne Park. She should take advantage of her newfound success on the WTA Tour moving forward. With so many players making headlines in women’s singles tennis right now, Genie will need to do all that she can to maintain this momentum.
