Grigor Dimitrov is the current world No. 4 in men’s singles tennis. He is in need of a bounce back win this week at the Indian Wells Masters.
Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov is coming off of a stellar 2017 ATP World Tour. In the early months of 2018, he has already tasted some success. With a 10-4 singles match record so far on the year, Dimitrov is off to the right start.
He is, however, coming off of an opening round loss at the Dubai Tennis Championships. Despite being the top seed at the event, Dimitrov suffered a loss to Tunisia’s Malek Jaziri. Falling in three sets to Jaziri, the Bulgarian saw the biggest upset of the tournament. Now, he has a chance at redemption at the 2018 Indian Wells Masters.
Dimitrov is the No. 3 seed this week. He faces veteran tennis player Fernando Verdasco first in Indian Wells. Verdasco won his opener to reach the meeting with the No. 3 seed. While Dimitrov is the heavy favorite in their matchup, anything can happen. At 34-years-old, Verdasco is a veteran with immense talent and experience. The Spanish tennis star is a former world No. 7 himself and knows what it takes to make a deep run at a big tournament.

The Swiss great already has a Grand Slam title on the year and is looking to defend his title at Indian Wells. With Rafael Nadal out due to injury, Federer must be considered the player to beat. Second seed Marin Cilic is in action this weekend and is without a doubt someone to watch.
