John Isner is putting together a string of rough starts to tournaments in the last two months. The American falls at the Indian Wells Masters.
It’s Gael Monfils who takes down American tennis veteran John Isner. While Monfils came into play at the 2018 Indian Wells Masters unseeded, he was no weak opponent for Isner in his opener. Monfils takes their match a hard-fought three set victory.
The struggles continue into March on the 2018 ATP World Tour for Isner. He has lost the majority of his openers in recent tournaments, excluding the Delray Beach Open where he won just one match before falling. Isner needs to regroup quickly in the coming weeks.
If he cannot find his rhythm in the coming weeks, the American tennis veteran will drop in the rankings. Others, such as Monfils, poses a big threat to some of the higher seeded players in men’s singles. Monfils is a talented veteran with lots of experience on tour. He has the potential to breakout at any given moment and could be an interesting player to watching moving forward at Indian Wells. Look for him to be a solid outside pick for a deep run this month.

Winning the match in straight sets, Querrey advances, going 6-4, 7-5 against Zverev. Querrey had put together an impressive past twelve months on the ATP World Tour. He is the current world No. 21 in men’s singles tennis and is sure to move up in the rankings if he can advance further at the 2018 Indian Wells Masters.
