Roger Federer meets Borna Coric in the semifinals at the 2018 Indian Wells Masters. The Swiss great looks to defend his title from last year.

It barely needs to be stated that Roger Federer is the heavy favorite against Borna Coric in their upcoming semifinals match at the Indian Wells Masters. Federer, already off to an incredible start on the 2018 ATP World Tour, is cruising through his time at the Masters 1000 event.

The Swiss great is yet to drop a single set this month at Indian Wells. He is the top seed and current world No. 1 in men’s singles tennis. With Rafael Nadal out of the mix due to injury, there is no doubt that Federer is the top contender in the sport. Coric needs to be at his very best in the upcoming semifinals match on Saturday.

Looking at their career head-to-head matchup, Federer is undefeated against the 21-year-old Croatian tennis player. Coric, who has one ATP singles title to his name, is the current world No. 49 on the tour. His run so far at the Indian Wells Masters has been impressive.

Borna Coric has defeated the likes of Roberto Bautista Agut and Kevin Anderson, among others, so far at the 2018 Indian Wells Masters.

While Federer is easing past the competition so far, Coric has put on an impressive showing too. He will need to carry that momentum into the semifinals on Saturday. The world No. 1 is 1-0 against the younger tennis player. They last faced one another in Dubai on the 2015 ATP World Tour. As the two don’t have a significant history of playing one another, anything can happen during their meeting. Federer has the advantage, but Coric can play spoiler if he maintains his current pace of play at the Indian Wells Masters.
