Oceane Dodin cruises through her qualifying matches at the 2018 Miami Open. Taking down three opponents so far, she takes on top seeded Simona Halep next.
Moving through her two qualifying matches, Dodin earned a win in the round of 128 over Verónica Cepede Royg of Paraguay in a hard-fought three-set thriller. Now, she takes on the top player in women’s singles tennis during the round of 64. While Dodin remains a heavy underdog against Halep, a solid performance, win or lose, could do wonders for her on the 2018 WTA Tour.
Dodin has one WTA singles title to her name. At just 21-years-old, the French tennis player has danced between her career high ranking of No. 46 and around the No. 100 mark for the past year and some change. She has seen enough success on the WTA Tour to make her a player that cannot be discounted. Still young and finding her rhythm, Dodin could discover a breakout run in the coming months if she can string together a set of deep tournament runs.
