The 2018 WTA Tour is starting to heat up. With a few months under our belt, Caroline Wozniacki remains atop the Race to Singapore.

It may come as no surprise that Caroline Wozniacki is in the lead for the 2018 Race to Singapore. The Danish tennis star earned her first career Grand Slam singles title earlier this year at the Australian Open. Defeating Romanian great Simona Halep in the finals, the two put on a historic match for everyone watching.

While Halep did take back the world No. 1 ranking in recent weeks, she remains just behind Wozniacki in the 2018 Race to Singapore.

The Australian Open champion remains in the lead with 2,750 points right now. Halep is right behind her with 2,320 points. With the Miami Open right around the corner, both top players are looking to cement their chances in the Race to Singapore. If Wozniacki and Halep can continue to impress throughout the middle months of the 2018 WTA Tour, they will be locks for the end of year finals. Last year, Wozniacki won her first ever WTA Finals. She has retouched career heights throughout her past year of play.

Caroline Wozniacki leads the 2018 Race to Singapore. Simona Halep is in second with German tennis star Angelique Kerber currently in third.

Two new additions jumped into play for the Race to Singapore this week. After both players reached the finals at Indian Wells, Naomi Osaka and Daria Kasatkina are now contenders in the race. Osaka’s title win at Indian Wells jumps her leaps and bounds, moving up 19 places in the Race to Singapore. She is now in the No. 6 position. Her win at Indian Wells was the first of her WTA career. Kasatkina is currently in the No. 7 position, jumping four places in the Race to Singapore. Women’s singles action is revealing a fantastic mix of youthful talent and veteran experience right now. The 2018 WTA Tour is sure to see several players vie for top rankings and positions. It would not be shocking to see action in both the singles rankings and the Race to Singapore come down to the final tournaments on the year.
